Teacup of Fun - #11 CPR Certified

Nobody panic! I am CPR certified as of last week.
What I found interesting about the class (besides the fact I now know CPR, how to operate an AED, and how to perform these actions on small children) is the laws behind people aiding other individuals.
What are the three things everyone is afraid of when giving CPR? Probably that you would hurt someone, further hurt someone, or they sue you for injury. What is the alternative to you not helping? Death! Any help is better than no help. Also, a law was passed that if you are helping someone they can not turn around and sue you. You are protected under the Good Samaritan act. I did find this interesting because that was always a secret thought in the back of my head, what if I tried to help this person and by doing so I break their rib and they sue me? (If you are interested I would recommend going to the American Heart Association website to learn more about becoming certified, and laws in place).
The certification is good for two years, and well worth the experience!
